He Only Takes The Best

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be

So he put his arms around you And whispered, “Come with me”.

With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away

Although we really loved you we would not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating hard working hands at rest

God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Marion was perhaps the Matriarch of Square dancing in Victoria.

A Life member of the Victorian Square Dancing Association

An Association in which she held many positions for over half a century. Senior Positions such as President, Vice President, Secretary, South Pacific Square Dance Review Editor for Victoria (The only person to have held that role) as well as being part of too many Dinner Dance, AGM and State Convention Committees to remember.

Marion has also attended all Victorian State Conventions, A record unequalled.

At a National Level she was a Life Patron of The Australian National Square Dance Conventions Board.

And not to forget being included on the Roll of Honour of the National Square Dance Society of Australia.

A very impressive record indeed.

Square Dancing has taken her to all States and Territories in Australia except for the Northern Territory.

For the first time, A national Convention will be held in the Northern Territory ithis year.

When we all travel to Darwin for the 52nd Australian National Square Dance Convention this June,  It will not be the same without you being there.
